This summer there is no excuse for drinking and driving. There is a new, free Safe Rides program in the Hartford and New Haven areas that will get you home if you’ve had too much to drink. It’s easy, it’s free and it could save your life.
Call. They’ll get you home. Safely.
Any Friday or Saturday night this summer, if you’re too drunk to drive, just call one of the numbers listed below or hail a cab off the street. Tell the cab driver you need a Safe Ride home. The ride is free when you let the driver know you've had too much to drink.

Please note the following:
- The rider must show a valid Connecticut driver’s license
- Cab will only take rider to address listed on driver’s license
Program Details
The Safe Rides Program is available on Friday and Saturday nights all summer through Labor Day weekend from 7pm to 6am.
The ride is free when you let the cab driver know you’ve had too much to drink. You won’t be penalized or publicized; this is a free service.
Just show your valid Connecticut driver’s license and the driver will take you to your home address.
